But science keeps showing it cannot. There is an urgent need to address these pressures that threaten both natural and human ecosystems. In this context of urgency, it appears crucial to develop Sustainable Ocean Studies, whose keystone could be management science. Unfortunately, while natural sciences have largely contributed to our understanding of marine issues and their solutions, management scholars on the contrary have rather neglected the ocean. In this special issue, we focus on the need for Sustainable Ocean Studies through three original highlights: scuba diving, marine wild meat consumption and interdisciplinary ocean research. date: 2019 date_type: published publisher: Centre de recherche DMSP faculty: gestion divisions: CRM keywords: ocean, sustainable development, sustainable ocean studies, interdisciplinarity, scuba diving language: en has_fulltext: FALSE view_date_year: 2019 full_text_status: none publication: M@n@gement volume: vol. 22 number: n° 2 place_of_pub: Paris pagerange: 297-315 refereed: TRUE issn: 1286-4892 oai_identifier: oai:tsm.fr:2703 harvester_local_overwrite: pending harvester_local_overwrite: creators_idrefppn harvester_local_overwrite: title harvester_local_overwrite: creators_halaffid harvester_local_overwrite: publisher harvester_local_overwrite: place_of_pub harvester_local_overwrite: number harvester_local_overwrite: volume harvester_local_overwrite: publish_to_hal oai_lastmod: 2021-10-22T13:42:10Z oai_set: tsm site: ut1 publish_to_hal: TRUE citation: Berkowitz, Héloïse (2019) The urgency of sustainable ocean studies in management.
