The measurement error is assumed to be an additive normal random variable on the input variable, but its variance is unknown. The estimator is a modification of the m-frontier, which necessitates the computation of a consistent estimator of the conditional survival function of the input variable given the output variable. In this paper, the identification and the consistency of a new estimator of the survival function is proved in the presence of additive noise with unknown variance. The performance of the estimator is also studied through simulated data. date: 2010-05 date_type: published publisher: TSE Working Paper official_url: http://tse-fr.eu/pub/22897 faculty: tse divisions: tse language: en has_fulltext: TRUE view_date_year: 2010 full_text_status: public monograph_type: working_paper series: TSE Working Paper volume: 10-179 book_title: TSE Working Paper oai_identifier: oai:tse-fr.eu:22897 harvester_local_overwrite: oai_set harvester_local_overwrite: faculty harvester_local_overwrite: site harvester_local_overwrite: creators_idrefppn oai_lastmod: 2015-07-31T18:00:02Z oai_set: tse oai_set: ut1c site: ut1 citation: Florens, Jean-Pierre , Schwarz, Maik and Van Bellegem, Sébastien (2010) Nonparametric Frontier Estimation from Noisy Data.
