The regulation of CO2 emissions is costly for airlines and modifies the organization of their market. Our paper proposes an economic analysis in which the regulation but also CO2 emissions of airlines are modelled. We show that, in a perfect competition setting, the difference between passengers carried without regulation and when the regulation is put in place, is negative for the best-performing planes. However, for the less efficient aircraft, the implementation of the regulation entails a reduction of airlines activity, and therefore a low level of carbon emissions. date: 2015 date_type: published id_number: 10.1016/j.trpro.2015.06.046 official_url: http://tse-fr.eu/pub/31925 faculty: tse divisions: tse language: en has_fulltext: FALSE doi: 10.1016/j.trpro.2015.06.046 view_date_year: 2015 full_text_status: none publication: Transportation Research Procedia volume: 8 pagerange: 103-113 refereed: TRUE issn: 2352-1465 oai_identifier: oai:tse-fr.eu:31925 harvester_local_overwrite: issn harvester_local_overwrite: faculty harvester_local_overwrite: id_number harvester_local_overwrite: creators_affiliation harvester_local_overwrite: doi harvester_local_overwrite: creators_idrefppn harvester_local_overwrite: creators_name harvester_local_overwrite: pending oai_lastmod: 2019-01-23T13:04:33Z oai_set: tse site: ut1 citation: Malavolti-Grimal, Estelle and Podesta, Marion (2015) Strategic Reactions of Airlines to the European Trading Scheme.
