Reviews of the impacts of these policies show that the effects are often modest. This has led governments to implement, in more recent times, policies focused on the market environment, especially on the characteristics of the food supply. The goal of this paper is to review theoretical and empirical studies focusing on changes in the food supply induced by alternative policies, and to attempt to draw from them policy guidelines and conjectures to test in future research. date: 2014 date_type: published publisher: Oxford University Press id_number: 10.1093/erae/jbu010 official_url: http://tse-fr.eu/pub/30617 faculty: tse divisions: tse keywords: Nutrition keywords: Food industry keywords: Food quality keywords: Regulation keywords: Voluntary commitments language: en has_fulltext: FALSE subjectsJEL: JEL_I38 subjectsJEL: JEL_L66 subjectsJEL: JEL_Q18 view_date_year: 2014 full_text_status: none publication: European Review of Agricultural Economics volume: 43 number: n°3 pagerange: 375-403 refereed: TRUE issn: 0165-1587 oai_identifier: oai:tse-fr.eu:30617 harvester_local_overwrite: oai_set harvester_local_overwrite: number harvester_local_overwrite: issn harvester_local_overwrite: faculty harvester_local_overwrite: publisher harvester_local_overwrite: id_number harvester_local_overwrite: creators_idrefppn oai_lastmod: 2019-12-10T10:37:44Z oai_set: tse oai_set: ut1c site: ut1 citation: Réquillart, Vincent and Soler, Louis-Georges (2014) Is the reduction of chronic diseases related to food consumption in the hands of the food industry ?
