Compared to the case with only good motivated workers, the mission-oriented sector has to resort to higher monitoring to deter bad workers from entering the sector. In equilibrium, bad workers work in the for-profit sector where they behave like “normal”people, while good workers self select into the mission-oriented sector. In the profit-oriented sector, both monitoring and bonus payments for good behavior increase to control the damage caused by bad workers. The results of the paper are illustrated by examples from child care and the threat posed by pedophiles in this sector. date: 2014-09 date_type: published publisher: Elsevier id_number: 10.1016/j.jpubeco.2014.05.006 official_url: http://tse-fr.eu/pub/28355 divisions: tse keywords: intrinsic motivation keywords: incentive contract keywords: non-profit keywords: sabotage keywords: candidate selection language: en has_fulltext: TRUE doi: 10.1016/j.jpubeco.2014.05.006 view_date_year: 2014 full_text_status: public publication: Journal of Public Economics volume: 117 place_of_pub: Amsterdam pagerange: 149-161 refereed: TRUE issn: 1879-2316 oai_identifier: oai:tse-fr.eu:28355 harvester_local_overwrite: oai_set harvester_local_overwrite: issn harvester_local_overwrite: faculty harvester_local_overwrite: site harvester_local_overwrite: publisher harvester_local_overwrite: place_of_pub harvester_local_overwrite: id_number harvester_local_overwrite: doi harvester_local_overwrite: creators_affiliation harvester_local_overwrite: creators_idrefppn oai_lastmod: 2019-10-02T07:50:15Z oai_set: tse oai_set: ut1c site: ut1 citation: Auriol, Emmanuelle and Brilon, Stefanie (2014) Anti-Social Behavior in Profit and Nonprofit Organizations.
